Welcome to Niseko(Hirafu)-Rusutsu area.
The Niseko-Rusutsu area of western Hokkaido has a population of approximately 30,000 people.
What we do:
This area's main industries are agriculture and tourism. The farmers grow potatoes, asparagus, sweet corn, sugar beets, lily bulbs, cabbage, carrots, radishes, and various types of beans. This area has a lot of ski resorts: Hirafu, Hanazono, Higashiyama, Annupri, Moiwa, and Rusutsu as well as numerous year-round activities.
|How to get here:
Fly to New Chitose Airport, which serves Sapporo and much of Hokkaido. It is a 90-minute flight from Tokyo or a 110-minute flight from Osaka. From New Chitose airport, it is then a 100-minute drive southwest to the Niseko-Rusutsu area.
In summer time:
This area is very vibrant and has beautiful scenery. Mt.Yohtei, which closely resembles Mt. Fuji, is the most famous landmark of the Niseko-Rusutsu area. If you enjoy hiking, Mt.Yohtei and nearby Mt. Niseko offer good trails. This area also attracts outside visitors for its rafting, canoeing, kayaking, hot-air ballooning, paragliding, horseback riding, cycling, and bungee jumping as well as its amusement park. The Niseko area also has sixteen hot springs. The soothing effects derived from the hot baths will help heal the weariness from your travels.
In winter time:
Surrounding Mt. Yohtei-Niseko (Hirafu) are numerous world-class ski resorts. Whether you enjoy skiing, snowboarding, or other snow pursuits, this is where you will find the best powder. At the end of the day, you can relax in bubbling, outdoor hot springs while enjoying a stunning view of Mt. Yohtei.
